New deal means Allstar One Electric charging network now has more than 1,500 locations and over 3,700 charging points

London, 02 February 2021 – Allstar Business Solutions Limited, the UK’s leading fuel management company, today announces its new partnership with Gronn Kontakt, an electric vehicle (EV) charging company owned by Statkraft – Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy. The deal means that Allstar adds a further 47 charging sites and 110 charge points to the multi-branded Allstar One Electric network.

By extending its network coverage, Allstar is reducing range anxiety for customers and supporting them by ensuring greater control and visibility for compatible charging points.

The government recently announced that the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans is to be brought forward to 2030 – 10 years earlier than was originally planned. Following this, there has been a significant drive from UK businesses to step up their plans for adopting alternative fuels vehicles and EVs into their fleets. Allstar’s own research into its customer base found that 30% of customers already have EVs in place with a further 65% of businesses planning to add EVs into their fleets over the next three years*.

Allstar is continuing to add new charging locations to its multi-branded electric charging network at pace. This is to support the renewed drive for businesses to take action, as well as the overall rapid growth of electric mobility within fleets. It also means that Allstar is there to provide solutions following the increase in demand from businesses looking for to ensure they have the most convenient and efficient way to charge their vehicles.

The news of this eighth network addition comes following Allstar’s launch of its EV charging payment solution, the Allstar One Electric card. The service was launched in answer to direct calls from fleet managers who want to move to a combination of all fuel types on one fuel card. It also compliments the existing ability to pay for hydrogen on the Allstar offering too.

The EV payment solution combines all the benefits of the Allstar One card, including access to the UK’s largest fuel network, savings across the Discount Diesel network and one HMRC-compliant invoice for all transactions.

Paul Holland, Managing Director of UK Fuel at FLEETCOR UK, said: “Clearly there has been some fantastic momentum gained in the electric vehicle movement in recent times. By partnering with Gronn Kontakt, we are helping UK fleets to make the switch to EV seamless, with increased convenience for charging sites as well as reducing range anxiety as we add more charging points to our growing network.”

Anthony Hinde, Managing Director at Gronn Kontakt, added: “We are pleased to work with Allstar in order to provide their users with the opportunity to seamlessly charge on our growing network. Allstar is clearly embracing the future of EVs within the fleet and therefore are a natural partner to Gronn Kontakt.”
