JCB joins major PayTech players as a Patron of The Payments Association

Global innovator connects with thriving network of over 100 payments organisations to foster growth in European market

London, UK. 26th June 2017. JCB, the global payments and technology company, has joined the The Payments Association (Payments Association) as a Patron member. The payment innovator, founded in Japan in 1961, joins the Payments Association’s community of PayTech collaborators.

JCB and its peers recognised that the emerging world of PayTech requires collaboration to share knowledge and insights openly, driving innovation to shape a sustainable and thriving payments ecosystem.

JCB is a key player in the Japanese payment market and its cards are accepted at merchants worldwide. It has been international since 1981 and identified the Payments Association as a key player in its efforts to grow further in the rapidly changing European market. The Payments Association is perfectly positioned to help JCB achieve this, with over 110 members from across the payments ecosystem, able to facilitate access to a PayTech collaboration network that employs over 300,000.

“The JCB brand is built on Japanese technological innovation in the payments space and this year we are seeing strong growth of our network across Europe,” said Andrew Doukanaris, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, JCB International (Europe) Ltd. “ As part of our dedicated drive to partner with disruptive, agile PSPs and Fintech acquirers in EMEA, we recognise that now is the right time to join an established organisation that shares our commitment to excellence. We want the Payments Association’s thriving community of payments professionals to know that JCB is open to working with similarly creative and ambitious organisations to foster and support global innovation and business growth in the sector for years to come.”

Tony Craddock, Director General of the Payments Association added, “It’s a pleasure to welcome JCB on board as a patron member of the UK’s most progressive and entrepreneurial trade association. The European payments landscape is undergoing momentous change with PSD2 opening up the market to new players but our collaborative network, supported by our independent board of international payment leaders, is helping new and more established players navigate this change and take advantage of the opportunities for international growth.”
Both JCB and the Payments Association are participating at Money20/20, Europe’s largest payments event, this week in Copenhagen. To find out more, or to join the Payments Association community, contact info@emergingpayments.org.

Tip: Check your spam

Sometimes our e-mails end up in spam. Make sure to check your spam folder for e-mails from The Payments Association

Tip: Check “other” tabs

Most modern e-mail clients now separate e-mails into different tabs. For example, Outlook has an “Other” tab, and Gmail has tabs for different types of e-mails, such as promotional.

Tip: Click the link within 60 minutes

For security reasons the link will expire after 60 minutes. Try submitting the login form again and wait a few seconds for the e-mail to arrive.

Tip: Only click once

The link will only work one time – once it’s been clicked, the link won’t log you in again. Instead, you’ll need to go back to the login screen and generate a new link.

Tip: Delete old login e-mails

Make sure you’re clicking the link on the most recent e-mail that’s been sent to you. We recommend deleting the e-mail once you’ve clicked the link.

Tip: Check your security policies

Some security systems will automatically click on links in e-mails to check for phishing, malware, viruses and other malicious threats. If these have been clicked, it won’t work when you try to click on the link.
